Procedures for Returning to Band
Drop-off: Please drop students off on Grenadier Blvd. or in the big faculty parking lot off of Fairview Ave. We ask that you avoid using the Student Activities lot to limit the congestion.
When you arrive: All students MUST wear a mask upon arrival. You will not be screened by the trainer, as self-screening should take place before leaving your house. If you feel ill, please stay home. Please do not congregate by the Student Athletic entrance. Most sectionals will be held in the outfield of the baseball field, so students can begin making their way down. Remember to keep distance as you are waiting for your sectional to begin.
Pick-Up: Please pick up students where you dropped them off. Again, please avoid the Student Activities lot. Students should not remain on campus to socialize after their sectionals.
Parking: For students who drive, please park on Grenadier Blvd. Please do not park in the teacher parking lots.

Updated Band Information from the Directors-Aug. 6, 2020
Over the past week, many new policies and safety measures have been established as we draw closer to the start of summer band and the school year. The district, the school, and we, as your directors, have been working hard to make sure everybody is safe, while still being able to create a rehearsal schedule that allows the LHSGB to move forward in this very unique situation. Please read this document carefully to become aware of the new schedule, as well as some answers to the questions we have been receiving concerning the school year.
Thank you for your patience, understanding, and support throughout all of this. As tough as this is, much of the success of this school year is about perspective. We will do our best to make the most of all of this and continue to uphold the commitment to excellence that is associated with the Liberty High School Grenadier Band.
Sincerely,
Kevin Long, Director klong
Allen Frank, Assistant Director afrank

Update on Summer Band from Mr. Long
I hope all of you are doing well and enjoying the summer. The nontraditional end to our school year has certainly impacted how we carried out finishing our year of band and beginning the next together.
Mr. Frank and I have been busy attending meetings and discussing regularly, “How will summer band rehearsals look for this year?” Here is the news you have been waiting for! Please plan for the LHSGB to begin summer rehearsals for the 2020-21 school year, August 10th at 8am.
In the next week or two, you will receive the annual “summer packet” for band. As in past years, it will include the rehearsal/performance schedule, music selections, rules and regs, and uniform care information. New to the packet this year, will be the necessary and mandatory procedures for socially distanced rehearsals.
Please remember as a band we are moving into new, and possibly, uncharted territory. Flexibility and understanding will be key to making our year a success.
Nulli Secondus,
Mr. Long

Band/Orchestra/Chorus Uniform & Instrument Collection-Time slots updated
Hello to all of the students of the LHS Music Department!
On Wednesday, June 10, Liberty will be conducting the collection of senior materials and issuing caps and gowns and diplomas. Along with the seniors, the collection of uniforms and instruments from ALL students grades 9-12 will also take place. ALL students of the Chorus, Band, and Orchestra are asked to read the information laid out below to know the process and to make this as successful as possible.
Attached are forms for Chorus/Orchestra, Grenadier Band, Bagpipes, and Majorettes. Please print the appropriate form(s) and fill them out as detailed as possible. If there is a number attached to a uniform piece, please list it. If there is no number, simply check the line to acknowledge you have it. If you are not able to print the forms, blank forms will be available that day.
Along with the uniforms, we ask that you return all other items. Folders, mutes, straps, swords, maces, etc…everything needs to be accounted for. Underclassmen with school-owned instruments will keep theirs. Seniors and non-returning members MUST return school-owned instruments that day.
On the day of the collection, there are time slots for each Student Service Center. PLEASE adhere to these times. When you arrive at Liberty, you will enter the parking lot on Fairview Avenue, then follow instructions from there.
The (updated) collection times are as follows:
11am – 12:30pm…SSC 400 (A-D)
