Liberty vs. Freedom Luncheon is going to go back to the way it was. Each school is providing their own pizzas. Liberty is doing sweet snacks and Freedom is doing salty snacks.
The bandstand will be open this Friday and will then be closed during the Freedom vs. Liberty Game.
There will be an online order for Grenadier Band Clothing coming in the future. We are waiting for the logo to be approved. We are hoping to have the order up in time for parents to buy items for their child for Christmas!
Jaqui-Vice President
Jackie went over the fundraisers that have taken place thus far this year with money and profit made.
Jacqui asked if the band parents were happy with the hoagies that were sold as fundraisers. Most parents did not like the hoagies from the company that we used. We will look into an alternative.
There are new fundraisers out now. Please check the website for the fundraisers that are now live.
Jeanette-Treasurer
Are there any questions about the treasurer’s report? (None) There was a question about the budget from the summer. Jeanette said that she is meeting with the Charms representative tomorrow and will be able to answer any questions next meeting.
William Lennox-Assistant Director
First Company Concert is October 19th at Liberty High School at 7 pm. Concert is free! It will be a bit different this year. It will be interactive. First Co. will also be performing at NMS in the morning. The First Co. kids are great and are working very hard!
Allen Frank-Director
Early morning schedule will stay consistent this week. Next week is a three day band week (M-W-F) for Liberty vs. Freedom Prep. We have added to our halftime show for this game. This Friday…if we are not able to practice on Thursday because of rain…we will have band practice on Friday morning in order to march the entire halftime show before the Easton game. We need to be prepared.
Liberty vs. Freedom week…It is a busy week! There is a mandatory rehearsal Wednesday evening (10/26) with Freedom. Thursday is the bonfire (full band). The plan is to have our band seniors recognized along with the football players and cheerleaders (6:30 PM). Thursday night…Seniors transform the band room into festive fun…and it is torn down by the next day. That is also Senior Decorating Night. We do a 10:00 AM rehearsal before the 11:00 luncheon with Freedom. Sunday is the Bethlehem Halloween Parade. It is a busy end of October!
Senate recognition is before this Friday’s game. They will recognize a teacher that shaped their life. This will happen quickly before we step off for our halftime show.
Last Saturday we had a great turn out for the Northampton County Festival. Three of our own were honored because of all of their hard work with uniforms (Emma Deangelo, Carilyn McLaughlin, Hannah King). They were honored as outstanding youth in the county!
If your child (Orchestra or Band) is planning on auditioning for PMEA, auditions are at Parkland HS…applications due next Friday.
Orchestra combined with the Choir today for the first rehearsal. It was a little rough…but it is still very early!
Orchestra will start practicing early morning in a few weeks.
Thank you to everyone who volunteers! I appreciate it!
A huge thank you to the board who make all of this happen!
Concert season is coming up! I look forward to it!
We will receive the My Gateway information and roll it out to the parents soon. This allows kids to register and pick roommates. Making payments is the big thing right now.
