*Welcome everyone! Minutes are being transcribed and will be on the website soon. Mrs. Z is loved and missed. She was a wonderful person that did so much for the band. The band parent association/students/parents sent a huge flower arrangement to the funeral to honor Mrs. Z.
*The final invoice that is owed to Mrs. Z will be mailed to her family.
*Please make sure that your child’s uniform fits correctly for the concert. If your child needs to be refitted, please let us know.

*Red Hot Chili Pipers–Drums, Pipers, Highland Dancers will participate. Members of the Chili Pipers will be coming to Liberty to train the kids. March 2 (full day) and March 3. They will be back on March 10 to rehearse as well. More details to follow.
*March 12–Parade of Shamrocks Parade (Students must march this parade!) Stepoff is 1:00 PM. Parade is same route as Halloween Parade.
*Middle School auditions were held last week. Our band for next year is set. Our numbers will be the same as this year. The concern is about quality, not the number of students in the band.
*I loved working at Nitschmann last week! It was fun working with the kids. It would be a great transition for the students if we did this every year with the middle school students. .
*Students are participating in the County Band Concert this year. Rehearsals are taking place. Concert will be at Easton on March 19th at 7PM. Two hundred students from throughout the county play in the final concert.
*Jazz Band has been up and running. We have started getting requests about performances. We are not doing big, competitive festivals this year. We are putting things together this year.
Our goal is to get any student who wants to be a part of the jazz band to start playing.
We are looking for performance activities for them.
*We are using the early morning slot to hold sectionals with the students. Traditionally, we call in the entire band/orchestra for practice. This year we are meeting with groups.
*Spring Concert–The concert will be held inside! Seating capacity still needs to be figured out. We want things to be as normal as possible. Concert week is very busy! The week of the concert…Tuesday/Thursday are the dress rehearsals (6-9 PM). All students must attend.
*This has been quite a week. This is the first time that we will not have a Mrs. Z report. Your children were wonderful when we told them. All of the kids knew how important she was to all of us. Having to tell your kids about Mrs. Z’s death was one of the hardest things that I had to do. Saturday’s procession was quite wonderful. Many students came to honor Mrs. Z. Even if you could not be there, that is ok. Mr. Z called Saturday night to tell me how special your kids are to their family. Mr. Z plans on coming in to talk to the students in the future. The pipers did a fantastic job! A big thank you to the parents who dropped off and waited for the students. The family sentall of you a very big thank you. We will move forward…but we will never forget her.
Thank you.
Mr. Lennox (Assistant Director)
*Marine Band will be here on Friday to talk to the students. They will talk to them about how to musically prepare for different types of musical concerts. They will be playing and answering questions. It is for the full band and orchestra. It will be during first block.
*You can still join the calendar subscription. Let Mr. Lennox know if you need help.
*If you ask a question on social media, it is better to email the band directors directly to get a response. Answering band specific questions over social media is not favorable.
