Approval of Minutes from 08-14-2025:
Marilyn called the meeting to order. She announced the appointment of Melissa Cheatham to the vacant At Large position.
She asked for approval on last month’s minutes. A motion to approve was made by Annalisa Kelly-Cavotta. Second by Melissa Cheatham . Overall approval by the full organization. (Motion passed)
Report from VP of Treasurer (Michelle in Teresa’s absence):
- Augusts financials (Monthly report 8/1 -8/31):
- Starting balance:$101,344.63
- Ending balance: $97,569.73
- Income: $16,929.10
- Expenses: $20,704.00
- Approval of Treasurer’s Report
A motion to approve was made by Annalisa Kelly-Cavotta. Second by Karin Fair. Overall approval by the full organization. (Motion passed)
- Michelle spoke about how senior banners came in lower than budgeted.She proposed a change to the budget that would move the remaining funds ($1488) from the senior banners category to the uniform accessories category of our budget. This will help with berets, tshirts, etc.
QUESTION: How did the senior banners come in so much lower?
Our current photographer (Mr. Miller) does not charge us for the photos for the banners.
QUESTION: So, it is just asking to move the $1488 from senior banners to uniform accessories?
Yes.
QUESTION: What is the income of $4,500 in uniform accessories from?
That is from the shoes.
- A motion to move the $1488 from the senior banners category to the uniform accessories category of our budget was made by Karin Fair. Second by Yi-Wen Lai. Overall approval by the full organization. (Motion passed)
- CutTime:
There is a family sharing feature of Cuttime where you can send a special link to family and friends. They can then deposit directly into your child’s Cuttime account. More information will be sent out.
Report from VP of Student Accounts (Steph):
- Fundraisers:
- All fundraisers are listed on our website: https://lhsgbopc.org/
- Fundraiser reminders:
- Steph will continue to put a picture of where the pick up is.
- If pick up is in the science lot:
- Stay in your car.
- The orders will already be sorted and loaded into your car for you.
- Payment is due at the fundraiser.
Please do not send payment to the directors.
If the payment does not reach the pick up, the items can not be released. - Items need to be picked up on the day of the pick up. They can not be held.
- Please do not send the people you sold items to to pick up their part of your order. Your full order needs to be paid for and picked up together. We can only take checks from members within our organization.
- Program Dues
- Band and Orchestra students help support their music program by paying program dues each year. Our program dues for the 2025/2026 school year are:
- $150 – Per student in Band only or in both Band and Orchestra
(includes ALL members including Pipers, Majorettes, & Colour Guard) - $75 – Per student in Orchestra only
- $150 – Per student in Band only or in both Band and Orchestra
- **Families with multiple students in the Program pay $150 for the first student and $75 for each additional student as a sibling discount.
- The money is due by October 1st for Band members and November 1st for Orchestra only members. You can pay either by check (made out to LHSGBOPC), money order, or credit card (using CutTime).
- Please email band-vp@lhsgbopc.org with any questions or to arrange making a payment.

- Buying and upgrading instruments:

- Pep band sign ups are on the door.
- Mr. Frank
- The first two travel games went smoothly.
- London:
- London sign ups closed September 8th.
If you sign up, you will now go on a waitlist. If there room students will bump into the trip list – 1st come, 1st serve. - Right now we are looking to travel with 160 students.
- London rehearsals will be outside of the school day after football season.
- Insurance emails went out. Done on an individual basis.
- Planning ahead: Get your passport now.
- London sign ups closed September 8th.
- Upcoming:
- Pep band: Monday (girls soccer) & Wednesday (boys soccer)
- Football game: Thursday
- Pep band: Students will get community service hours.
- Saturday 9/27: Celtic Classic (1st parade)
- Meet at City Hall
- We are the last band
- Step off 11:30am
- More information to come in the bulletin
- Heavy traffic at the end of the parade. You will need to walk back up the hill.
- Monday 10/13: Parade Philadelphia
- During the school day.
- Step off is 11am.
- It will be televised on 6ABC (potentially nationally).
- Easton, Parkland, Freedom, Temple, Marine Corp. & Navy Bands
- End of season Halloween parades are coming.
- Spirit Week
- Bonfire/Nonfire – October 23rd
- This is when we do senior night for football, cheerleaders, and band.
- Starts around 6:30pm
- Orchestra:
- Mark your calendar for December 12th and 14th for the Choir/Orchestra Concert
- Pipes accepted into playing at our annual conference for PMEA. The performance is not public but pretty awesome!
- PMEA:
- Applications are now posted for district band/orchestra.
- Saturday, December 1st is the audition day.
- Spaghetti dinner is postponed but we may want to show the documentary sooner.
- Information can be found in our weekly bulletin, BandApp, and Synergy.
- Thank you to everyone that is filling out the absence forms. If you know in advance that your child will be missing a performance, please fill it out ahead of time.
QUESTION: Do you know the parade route for the Philadelphia parade?
Start at JFK Blvd and end at City Hall, but exact route is not posted yet.
QUESTION: For the London Tag Along trip, is there a cut off date?
They are still registering but they are wrapping up registration soon.

- We have a parent that is going to help assist us in making an image for social media to help us raise money for London.
