*All uniforms must be brought to school and packed in boxes by end-of-day Tuesday, April 18th.
*Luggage will be brought to school on Tuesday evening.
*Carry-ons will come to school with students on Wednesday morning.
*All uniforms should be in school Monday or Tuesday during the day. The uniforms/bearskins need to be packed in boxes.
*Instruments will also be loaded on Tuesday.
*Luggage needs to come in on Tuesday evening. A window of time will be given. Luggage will be stored overnight. Please be sure that your child does not pack anything that they should not have with them. We need to be sure that no student is putting themselves in the position that they can tarnish the band reputation or their own reputation on this trip. We need to follow BASD protocols and rules on the trip. We will be checking the luggage and carry-ons. Please check your child’s belongings before they leave home. Students will be allowed to take ONE suitcase (medium sized). They may take ONE carry-on as well. We will be traveling on Easton Coach.
I will call Easton Coach to see what kind of charging ports they have on the bus. No Bluetooth Speakers will be allowed on the bus. This is not dance-party time!
*Student Leaders/QuarterMasters–They will be doing basic hems and sewing on buttons to uniforms that need work.
*Carilyn McLaughlin asked students to try on their uniforms and determine if any work needs to be done. Please bring uniforms in this week for us to work on.
*We need to begin marching with the band to be sure that the kids that are going to Norfolk sound good together. Every rehearsal counts! Thank you in advance for sharing your kids!
Tina Martucci/President
*Welcome! Good Evening! I am excited about the trip! Please review the minutes so that we can approve them. First–Sue Testa & Second–Mrs. Babbin.
Cory Dailey/VP Volunteers
*Sign up Genius going out for volunteers for the concert.
*Nominations closed yesterday. Karen McLaughlin and Nikki Giannaras have been collecting nominations for the open positions in the band parent organization.
Rita Haberstumpf/School Nurse
*Rita went over medications that can be on the student–but a doctor’s note will need to come with the medication. Rita must administer the medications if students do not have a note to take them. Suntan lotion and acne medications may be taken on their own. Any medication that is prescribed by a doctor needs a doctor’s note and prescription bottle. Bottle must have student’s name, pharmacy phone number, etc. You will need 7 pills in the bottle. Note from doctor should say that child can self administer medication by themselves.
Dramamine and Zyrtec are on the list of medications that students do not need a script for. A list will come home with meds that do not need a script in order to take on the trip.
*All meds need to come in on Tuesday night.
Jeanette/Treasurer
Jacqui Fortsch/VP
*Thank you to everyone who is paid in full or almost paid in full.
*We are asking that the trip be paid in full by tonight. Fundraisers are still going on. The last day to pay by check is April 6, 2023 at 9 PM. There will be no checks after that date. If you need to give Jeanette a payment…you will need to come to her with cash or money order. The last date that money can come in and your child can go on the trip is April 12th. If trip is not paid in full by that date …your child will not be allowed to come on the trip.
*Say you paid $1500 for trip and you over-fundraised… If you fundraised over the amount that you needed…you will be receiving a check back with the overpayment amount at the end of the school year. Also, do not expect that all fundraisers will be in by April 12th…the last day that payment can be made in order for a student to participate in the trip. It is better if you pay the full amount by April 12th and then get the fundraised money refund at the end of the year. Also, you may roll over money from one child to another…but then the money is non refundable.
Adjourn!
